Course Content:
Introduction to health and safety in the workplace concepts
Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
Roles and responsibilities of the Persons Conducting Business Undertaking (PCBU’s), Officers and Workers
Workplace consultation and communication
Understanding hazards, hazard identification and management
Health and safety management system components
Legal requirements for first aid and emergency planning
Course completion time – Approx. 60 minutes

Introduction to emergency response planning and the New Zealand legal requirements
What constitutes an emergency situation
Physical and psychological effects of emergencies and how to cope
Preparing for emergencies - plan, prepare, practice, respond
First aid requirements and kit list suggestions
Survival equipment and recommended kit lists
Emergency management - before, during and after actions to manage emergency situations
Course completion time – 90 minutes
